Welcome New Player!

New Players

Welcome to Northern Colorado Rugby.  With in this page there is information that will help you with the game of rugby as well as the team’s information.  It’s great to have new players out on the pitch and if you have any questions about anything please call or email anybody on the team.

1.  If you need to get your hands on rugby shorts and boots (cleats) or any other rugby gear, then go to Soccer Pavilion.  They have helped us out by stocking our equipment for us.  Let them know that you’re on the Northern Colorado Rugby Men’s Club.

Owners: Ken and Sherry

1001 E. Harmony Rd. Unit C

970 223-7200

Our team equipment: Black rugby shorts, mouthpiece, rugby cleats or soccer cleats, navy blue socks with white stripes.

(Cannot have cleats with a toe cleat like football or baseball cleats)

2.  If you want to read and learn more about the game of rugby then use the following link and you can download everything that you need.  Don’t get too confused or frustrated about the rules, it will come together for you on the pitch.  Fort Collins Rugby is the perfect team to learn the game with.  Welcome to the game of Rugby!

3.  Now meet the players and the team that will be helping you with your knowledge of this wonderful sport.  Here is the link for Fort Collins Rugby Web Site.  There are some great PICS of some of the past events that have taken place, good Times.  There are also places to check on our rugby news as well as our schedule, enjoy. We also have our 2006 spring schedule posted on the web site.

4.  We need to get you registered with USA Rugby and the CIPP form.  This is a third party insurance that is required by USA Rugby to play rugby.  You can register yourself with the following link or you can ask Terje or Donny to bring you a form to practice.  Either way we need to get this done ASAP.  If you do it your self, click on the link and create a new account and follow the instructions to register — membership registration (yourself only).  This is a must!  As far as our team dues, the cost is $75 per season (two seasons).  Please either pay the team by the first game or set something up for a payment plan.  We don’t make any money from these dues; this money goes to field costs and referee dues.  Please call or email with any questions.

5.  Lastly, we have a message board that we use through yahoo groups.  This way we can keep in touch with all the players through one email address.  We joke and send messages about all rugby information through this messenger.  Use the following link and join our group so that you can ask or send your own comments.  We get most of our information from this message board.  Our sponsor is also on this link so she can send us information on up coming events.

Text Directions:

Head North on I-25 from Denver to the Prospect exit into Fort Collins (Right after the Weigh and Check station past Harmony). Go East (right) on E. Prospect Rd.

You will travel approximately 2.5 miles, past 1 stop sign and a small lake (Dead Man’s Lake) before you will need to turn South (right) on County Line Rd (Weld CR 1 and Larimer CR 13). NOTE: This road does not have a road sign, but it is the last right before the road turns to dirt. If you are still heading East on a dirt road, you have gone too far. The roads are paved all the way to the pitch.

The pitch will be approximately .3 miles from the turnoff on the right by an old farm house with a “Wildwing Sales Office” sign in front.
